Terms of Service
Last updated September 24, 2026These terms govern your use of the Second Shift app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.
What Second Shift is
Second Shift is a tool for independent contractors to record voice notes about their work and turn them into customer records, job records, quotes, and invoices. It's provided as-is, and is currently in early access / pilot testing — features, pricing, and availability may change.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
Your data and your customers' data
You own the customer, job, quote, and invoice data you enter into Second Shift. You're responsible for having the right to collect and store any information about your own customers that you put into the app, and for complying with any laws that apply to how you handle that information.
Acceptable use
Don't use Second Shift to store or transmit anything unlawful, to impersonate someone else, or to try to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.
Quotes, invoices, and payments
Second Shift helps you create and share quotes and invoices as PDFs. We don't process payments on your behalf — any payment instructions you include are between you and your customer. We aren't responsible for how or whether your customers pay you.
Subscription and billing
Second Shift is available with a 7-day free trial. After the trial ends, it's $29/month, billed automatically through the Apple App Store or Google Play — whichever account you subscribed with. Second Shift never sees or stores your card details; that's handled entirely by Apple or Google.
Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your Apple ID or Google Play account settings, and you'll keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for. If you cancel during the free trial, you won't be charged. Refunds are issued by Apple or Google under their own refund policies, not by us directly.
Third-party services
Second Shift relies on third-party services — including Google Firebase, Google Cloud Speech-to-Text, Anthropic's Claude API, and RevenueCat (for subscription billing) — to operate. We aren't responsible for outages or issues caused by those providers.
No warranty
Second Shift is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-extracted details from your voice notes will always be accurate — always review what the app proposes before confirming it, especially on quotes and invoices you send to customers.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Second Shift and its developer aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including lost revenue or lost data.
Changes to the service or these terms
We may update the app or these terms as Second Shift develops. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
Ending your account
You can stop using Second Shift and request account deletion at any time by emailing support@nosecondshift.com.
